in ancient athens, at the time of socrates, a lot of governance was done by allotment. eventually, the idea
that some people were jsut better at some things than others began to be a deomonstrable fact, no matter how much it grated on people.
and thn it tended to go bad, and there began to be an entitlement to the "being better" of the type tht gets slammed in orwell's animal farm.
in the meantime, a word that meant "alotted" began to mean special, different, cool.....clergy.
at the time when people realised it might be their lot in life to be the mayor, or the shaman, or the singer-songwrtier, they took the job, and did it, and went on.
they didn;t mix their ego with the craft.
they could wake up one day and go, o, dang, i'm a poet. o dang, i'm a general.
they never saw a need to think it meant something.
so, did aristotle and his little cruise thru the greek islands of thought and taxonomy take something away?
when blogger restores its pix uload, this spot may contain an image from parthenon times showing the serpent as the comopanion of a greek ideal of wisdom.

after halloween we start Christmas... what a weird calendar the usa has.
ad at&croft did quite well with a song containing the lines "nightingale don't fly away" which re-nforced this same iamge from another direction. the Nightingale inquestion, the perceived Voice of Love.
the Tree becomes the staff, the Serpently growing it's way to sky and sun, roots gnarling, penetrating, shaping, looking curved and bending, but taking the real route to the source.
I stand there to tel us who we are, as we approach It.
"we come to find out how we are" ("we go" lyrcs and music by serpent wisdom, represented by j&b dances, all copyrights reserved.)

This Thursday night, November2, June Carter Cash will be at Air Devils Inn. Along with Townes Van Zandt, francis scott keye, and whoever actually wrote "man of constant sorrow" Johnny will be appearing just below the stage ceiling when
the ken the boxman creates quantum worlds of wonder populated not by the lyrics of Jak, but by authors who have gone onto the next plane.
Others beside Jak Son have reported seeing them. If you are there for the world dance, whether you see them or not, you'll know they are in the room.
Where ever 2 or more of you are gathered in the spirit, Spirit is there.
Join the world dance with serpent wisdom.

according to any number of Bhuddist sources, there was a part of Bhuddha's Message to mankind that man wasn't ready to take.
about the time of Christ, it could be.
in the meantime, it was hidden with the serpents. serpent wisdom.
telling a child that there were treats for him outside a burning house might be wiser than telling him he was in danger if he stayed with his toys inside the burning house.
with the wisdom of serpents, and the innocence of doves.
white lotus, white hand--do we reach for the boquet of the flower, or reach out our hand, into a snake dance reaching across the horison..? how man people does it take to make that happen?
serpent wisdom will be dancing tonite at the oldest running bar in louisville.
will you be there?
can you dance to the star-spangled banner? can you dance to a truth about the magdalene?
come find out.

All human beings want the same 2 things--to get thru the night and have tomorrow be better than today. in a cave 22 thousand years ago, or in a coffee house where u may be a stranger to this city .u want to get thru the night and have tomorrow be better than today.
the appearance of the system can change. it better, actually. one time u may be dreaing tomorrow's food into existence, another u may be building a nation or a world, or a way to look at things differently than ever before--which means somethins will look alike, some things different.
u'll know by the results.
there is a changeless Cause of God--which might be defined without all the nonsense as just the Bst Advice on how to get thru the night, and have tomorrow be better than today.

a freind and i were talking about the differences in how we all perceive certain moral issus,
as if any of us knew. and about the pain so many of us have from not being willing to admit to ourelves and others
we don;t know. and how we inlict pain on others when we insist we do, and how so many of those injured are young.
using our own sense of nsecurities as a reasonable justifcation to not reach out, form one great snake dance
reasching all across the horison, refusing to answer, "how many people does it take to make it happen ....(one people).
ok,
i looked at Bhuddism.
It teaches that material life is not real.
that would make being "gay" not real. being "hetero" not real.
in fact "being" anything much but spirit is not real.
as is said, "it's in your spirit, that's where it matters. that's where it is it is.
that what it's in it's n it's in. ("spirit" serpent wisdom, c 2006 j&b dances, all rights reserved.)
i also looked at differentiations between Bhuddism and so-called Hinduism.
i found this quote:
"While the two share many of the same ideas and visions, however, they are different and represent different ideals. One is an ideal of perfect self, one of perfect self-less-ness. These are opposing ends, even if their approaches are similar."
perhaps the there is no difference. perhaps one teaches that self is filled with nonsensical roo droppings, and to be perfected must be emptied.
and the other teaches that a perfect self is empty.
if atman, the understadning that we are eternal souls, is false, is this caused by eternity or by our understaning?
if brahman, the eternally changeless universe is false, is it becuase there is no universe, or we are incapable of sensing
the changelsess nature of an organic process?
serpent wisdom would say, ahhh, yeah... "no fate, no man. we make it with our bare hands. we choose our blessings and our scars.
we come to find out who we are." and amongst what we learn is indeed, how little we know.
as if any of us knew. and about the pain so many of us have from not being willing to admit to ourelves and others

here's a picture of a Guy, without body, all soul, in sacrifice, in vision trance, in dream,
creating the means to feed His people, and to show them what later Moses would be doing, in a world they could not even begin
to imagine. that's the changeless religion of God.
how much does it resemble the "we're proud" ???
each of us will decide for ourselves. and some will try to decide fo others.
and that too shall pass.

we go.
we choose.
no fate..no man.
we make it with our bare hands.
we choose our blessings and our scars.
we come to find out who we are.
the tree don't curse the sidewalk for covering up her roots,
and the sidewalk don;t talk bad about her when those roots come bysting through.
abstract cracks at the garden gate, puzzling through beneath her shade.
beneath her shade.
we go. we come. we choose.
we choose our blessings and our scars--
we come to find out who we are.
who we are.
we choose.
no fate..no man.
we make it with our bare hands.
we choose our blessings and our scars.
we come to find out who we are.
